Anthony Edwards is the Steph Curry of Michael Jordans

The National Basketball Association has recognized Anthony Edwards as one of its top developing talents.

During the 2024–25 season, his averages comprised 25.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while becoming the Minnesota Timberwolves team leader for scoring. The team managed to qualify for the Western Conference playoffs' sixth seed because of his standout performance.

The comparison between him and basketball legends Steph Curry and Michael Jordan extends beyond reason. The momentous achievements and consistent dominance which made Curry and Jordan exceptions to the game remain unattained by Edwards even with his occasional peak performances. Curry introduced new standards in shooting, while Jordan established himself as the definitive standard of competition and leadership.​

The comparisons should get less emphasis according to Edwards' perspective. The frequency and intensity of such comparisons will escalate further if he maintains his current performance standards. Winning the title before turning 22 will place Edwards in an elite category because it took Jordan a decade longer to reach this milestone.

Edwards continues to improve as a player but cannot yet be compared to the all-time greats until he reaches their level of accomplishment. The basketball world looks past comparisons between Edwards and Jordan due to Edwards' potential to become his own unique player.
