One of the biggest challenges faced by sports institutions, sports clubs, and coaches is finding young athletes who have the potential to advance to the professional level in their chosen sport. As a result, TID has assumed a crucial role in the development of great talents.

Here are some of the best TID strategies to use as a coach or scout to ensure that no talent is overlooked in the process:

Additionally, financial status, place of birth, and age should never serve as the sole determinants of identification. Due to the inequity of the TID system, the sports industry must invest a lot of time and energy into creating strategies that are both fair and efficient for dealing with this issue.

Someone who has experience working with college athletes and is aware of the unique difficulties in spotting talent in young athletes at various stages of their careers. It has always turned out to be a grave error to hire scouts who have little experience with young athletes.

Scouts and coaches play key roles in these networks, which involve many different parties. It is important for those involved to see themselves as a component of this larger whole and to actively work to integrate their systems and data with those of others in the network. Making informed decisions in this process requires transparency, and increasing collaboration and transparency within TID processes increase the likelihood that the sports community will give every deserving talent a chance.

The key to making informed decisions in the modern world is data. Scouts for sports should welcome data. By utilizing databases and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies that use data to aid in decision-making, clubs and coaches can get one step closer in making sure that their identification procedures are supported by data.

It is necessary to establish a nationwide network of TID experts that covers every part of the nation. This would allow talent scouts to keep an eye on the entire talent pool, not just athletes from more accessible areas but also those from remote, difficult-to-reach areas

Data and AI also play a role. Technologies that can record young athletes' performance from video of them playing, calculate and then upload their metrics in real time to a platform where scouts can check the stats and choose from a pool of talent will be a valuable tool in a TID system. This will help to widen the net and will undoubtedly be one of the solutions to the geographical problem.

According to FIFA

More athletes with high levels of talent will be found as the process and system become more efficient. Over 80% of the top 20 sports leagues use a systematic TID approach. In the lower-ranked leagues, this percentage falls off dramatically, especially for the women's pathway, where only about 37% of sports leagues ranked 21–100 have a TID system in place for female athletes . TID seems to begin in the top 100 leagues between the ages of ten and twelve. This needs to change.
